***All High School Band and Guard members are required to attend the camp*** Each summer, in mid to late July, students begin to practice for the upcoming marching season. Mr. Roemer will post the schedule in the calendar on this website. The schedule includes all the marching band performances and competitions. Be sure to check the calendar often for added competitions and rehearsals.  Payment for Band Camp is expected by the first day of pre-camp or at the camp meeting.

Students will be attending Band Camp in late July or early August for 3 nights and 4 days at a location to be announced.  Mr. Roemer will post information concerning costs, medical check-ups, things to bring (and not to bring) under "Band Camp".  Band members should bring money for a fast food lunch on the first day of camp, and money for pizza night. Band members are asked not to bring valuables or large sums of money to camp.

The Vice-President of RHS Band Boosters will obtain a list of volunteers to help at Band Camp. Parents are needed to chaperone both nights and days. Sometimes a parent can only be there for one day or one night. The band appreciates any amount of help, and the Vice-President will make assignments as necessary.  A nurse is also needed. Parent/nurse volunteers will be called during June in order to give everyone time to make summer vacation plans, and to explain their responsibilities as a chaperones.

Band Camp is a time of bonding for the students. The upper classmen can show younger band members "the ropes" and encourage them. Upper classmen should help new members to realize that the marching band is hard work, but is also rewarding, especially if they compete in the OMEA State Marching Band Competitions.

The students will "set" the show during Band Camp, and on the final night parents are invited to come see the amazing progress made during the week. After the "show" students will head home with their parents feeling tired, but exhilarated because of their accomplishments.

There will be opportunities to sign up to participate on various committees before and after the performance on the last night and at the booster open house (usually scheduled on of the evenings of pre-camp). You may also join the Band Boosters at this time, and you may be able to order T-shirts. You can sign up to be a chaperone for away football games and competitions. If you are unable to sign-up as a volunteer during the final evening of Band Camp, you can still help the band at any point during the school year. Your help is always very welcome.

**WE HOPE EVERYONE WILL COME TO THE FINAL CAMP PERFORMANCE! IT IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE.**
